Rossif Sutherland Joins ‘Orphan’ Prequel

The Orphan prequel, Orphan: First Kill, has added another actor to its ranks as the early stages of filming has started. Rossif Sutherland will star opposite Julia Stiles and Isabelle Fuhrman, according to a report on Deadline. The film is being directed by William Brent Bell (The Boy), and written by David Coggeshall.

Sutherland, a Canadian-born actor is known for his roles in Dead Before Dawn, Hellions, Hyena Road, Edge of Winter, ER and Reign. Sutherland most recently stepped into the role of Michal Vos in Brandon Cronenberg’s Possessor.

As reported last week, here in Horror News Network, the prequel centers on Leena Klammer, who orchestrates her escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility. She then travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. But Leena’s new life as “Esther” comes with an unexpected wrinkle and pits her against a mother who will protect her family at any cost.
