‘Resident Evil Village’ Announced At PlayStation 5 Reveal Event

While the rumors of another Resident Evil title have been swirling for quite some time, today was the day that Capcom officially announced the next chapter in the survival horror series at Sony’s PlayStation 5 event.

Taking place a few years after the events in Resident Evil 7 biohazard, Resident Evil Village finds Mia and Ethan living a happy life after putting their horrifying experiences at Baker’s plantation house in their rear view. Calm doesn’t last long in the world of Resident Evil and when Chris Redfield makes an unexpected return Ethan’s world comes crashing down all around him. Ethan seeks answers which lead him to a mysterious village.

While no official date has been given, Resident Evil 8 is slated to hit in 2021. In addition to the PlayStation 5, the game will also be available on the Xbox Series X and Windows PC through Steam.

In addition to the new Resident Evil title, Sony also showed footage of Demon’s Souls, Gran Turismo, Ratchet & Clank, Horizon Zero Dawn, Stray, Returnal, Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Little Devil Inside, NBA 2K21 and more.
