Peacocok Acquires ‘Mr. Mercedes’ Series

The official streaming service of NBCUniversal, Peacock has acquired the series Mr. Mercedes from David E. Keller which is of course based on Stephen King’s works that follow a retired detective that is being taunted by a murderer. The first two seasons will premiere exclusively on Peacock on Thursday, October 15, with a Season 3 premiere date forthcoming, according to a report on Deadline.

The series stars Brendan Gleeson, Harry Treadaway, Holland Taylor, Justine Lupe, Mary-Louise Parker, Ann Cusack, Jharrel Jerome, Breeda Wool, Scott Lawrence, Maximiliano Hernandez, Kelly Lynch, Nancy Travis and Maddie Hasson.

The source material, Mr. Mercedes was published on June 3, 2014. The book was followed in 2015 by Finders Keepers and in 2016 Stephen King completed the trilogy when End of Watch was released. The novel won the 2015 Edgar Award for Best Novel from the Mystery Writers of America and Goodreads Choice Awards for 2014 in the “Mystery and Thriller” category.
