‘Paranormal Activity’ Reboot in the Works at Blumhouse

Underwater director William Eubank will be directing the next Paranormal Activity movie alongside Happy Death Day filmmaker and Paranormal Activity writer Christopher Landon. Landon wrote movies 2 through 4 of the franchise. Jason Blum and Oren Peli are returning to produce as well as Steven Schneider as executive producer. The details of the plot have not yet been released to the public however according to Vulture, the team behind the movie described it as “an unexpected retooling” that adheres to the series found-footage style. The release date of the movie is scheduled to be March 4th, 2022.

The Paranormal Activity franchise has always focused each movie on a family terrorized by demons. The movies capitalize on the ever-increasing use of video and cell phone cameras to put the viewer face to face with the scares while making it more realistic and relatable experience. The Paranormal Activity franchise through 6 movies has grossed a total of 890.3 million dollars worldwide.
