Orion Pictures Debuts Official Trailer for ‘The Prodigy’

Fans of the 90’s electronica group, The Prodigy, will be disappointed to learn that today’s new trailer for The Prodigy doesn’t feature any spiky multi-colored hair or face piercings. Instead, the new Orion Pictures film tells the story of a homicidal baby genius who- like a live action Stewie from Family Guy– becomes more dangerous and threatening towards his parents as he grows more intelligent. In the new clip, Miles’ parents take him to a psychological specialist (one who The Prodigy might suggest is used to dealing with the “psychosomatic, addict, insane!”) with little signs of success. The trailer ends with Miles asking his mom, “Will you always love me, no matter what I do?” Based on the kind of horror movies which typically hit theaters in January and February, how could anyone possibly answer that question affirmatively? For all we know, his next line just might be, “I’m a firestata! Twisted firestata!”

You can watch the new trailer below:

The marketing campaign for The Prodigy also consists of a provocative new hashtag, #WhatsWrongWithMiles. We’ll find out soon enough, as the movie debuts on February 8th, 2018. The Prodigy stars Taylor Schilling and Jackson Robert Scott, and it’s directed by Nicholas McCarthy. Stay tuned to Horror News Network for complete coverage of this creepy kid film as soon as it breaks!
