Original Sheriff Leigh Brackett Actor to Return for ‘Halloween Kills’

It has been revealed that Charles Cyphers has been tapped to reprise his role as Haddonfield’s sheriff Leigh Brackett in the upcoming sequel Halloween Kills. Cyphers starred in both the 1978 original Halloween and 1981 sequel, Halloween II.

Currently filming in Wilmington, NC, the announcement was made via Twitter by @Halloween__Fans, a page which also posted that Haddonfield Memorial Hospital will be featured in Kills as well. The location was central in the plot of Halloween II when Michael Myers stalked Laurie Strode while she was trying to recover from the injuries she sustained just hours earlier.

Leigh Brackett was the father of Annie (Nancy Loomis), one of Laurie’s best friends in the ’78 film. The role was also played by Brad Dourif in Rob Zombie’s Halloween remake and Halloween 2 which were released in 2007 and 2009 respectively and met with mixed-to-negative reception and middling box office results.

Other returning actors from the original Halloween film include Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode, Kyle Richards as Lindsey Wallace and Nancy Stephens who will reprise her role as Nurse Marion.

Halloween Kills is set for release on October 16, 2020.

Since Mark was four years old he has always loved the horror genre, even when his mother would be a good parent and not let him watch such films. It was when he would sneak into the Horror section at the video store called Tommy K's that he would see all of the VHS covers of classics like Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street. During his time as a journalism major and news staff writer at Southern CT State University, he had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing paranormal investigator Lorraine Warren before a seminar in 2009 at the Lyman Center on campus.
