New Japanese Kong: Skull Island Poster is a Real Monster Mash

With less than a month away from the release of Kong: Skull Island, a number of alternate posters have been released for the film.  Along with the Apocalypse Now inspired poster, the Japanese poster for the return of King Kong has many fans calling friends and relatives overseas to locate one.

The poster is a monster mash of characters and colors and features a Dino De Laurentiis-like Kong in the center, surrounded by helicopters, a bark beetle, skull crawlers, and a number of natives and soldiers. The poster bears more than a passing resemblance to classic ToHo Studios’ Godzilla posters, which were well known for fitting as much action and monsters as humanly possible on a 24″ x 36″ print.

The film (which will tie into the recent Godzilla film and pave the way for a Kong/Godzilla showdown in 2020) will be released on March 10th in the U.S. and March 25th in Japan.

Stayed tuned to Horror News Network for a review of the film and all other things horror.
