Netflix Orders ‘Terminator’ Animated Series

Netflix has ordered a new anime series based on The Terminator. The series is being produced by Skydance, who produced the previous two films in the series;  Terminator: Genesys and Terminator: Dark Fate. The series will also be produced by Production I.G who produced the anime series Ghost in the Shell, according to a report on Deadline.

Mattson Tomlin, one of the writers on Robert Pattinson’s The Batman, will be the series’ showrunner and executive producer.

“Anyone who knows my writing knows I believe in taking big swings and going for the heart,” said Tomlin “I’m honored that Netflix and Skydance have given me the opportunity to approach Terminator in a way that breaks conventions, subverts expectations and has real guts.”

The series will be the first animated adaptation of the franchise which has spawned six films, the TV series The Sarah Connor Chronicles, two webseries, fifteen video games, and one video game appearance in the Mortal Kombat franchise.
