Netflix Offers Sneak Peek At New Godzilla Anime Series

The familiar roar you hear comes from the King of the Monsters as he rears his scaly head in anticipation of more animated mayhem on Netflix.

The streamer has unveiled (unleashed?) a teaser trailer for Godzilla: Singular Pointan anime series reported on here in Horror News Network a few weeks ago–to get everyone in the proper mood for the giant lizard’s return to the small screen, according to JoBlo.com. The exciting clip and a new poster heralding the series both can be seen on this page.

This series–which will boast a new cast of characters and an original storyline–will not branch off from or be related to the previous Netflix Godzilla series–Godzilla: Planet of the MonstersGodzilla: City on the Edge of Battle and Godzilla: The Planet Eater.

The show’s official synopsis warns that, “when danger comes up from the depths, only young geniuses Mei, Yun and their team can face the threat.” Everybody has a plan…until the Big Guy shows up.

Godzilla: Singular Point–from the anime production studios of Bones and Orange–will be directed by Atsushi Takahashi and will combine hand-drawn and CGI animation styles (as seen in the teaser).

Other contributors to the series include composer Kan Sawada, editor/writer Toh Enjoe, character designer Kazue Kato and animator Eiji Yamamori.

No specific debut date for next year has been set at this time, so keep reading Horror News Network for more details on the latest animated exploits of Godzilla on Netflix.
