MTV’s ‘Scream’ Season 2 Gets Date & New Cast

MTV’s ‘Scream’ Season 2 will premiere May 31 at 10 PM. It will have a new cast with new roles and new showrunners, which were previously announced.   Michael Gans and Richard Register are showrunning, with production currently underway in New Orleans.

The new cast for season two includes recording artist Kiana Lede, Santiago Segura (47 Meters Down, Silicon Valley ), Anthony Ruivivar (Banshee, American Horror Story), Austin Highsmith (Murder in the First, Criminal Minds), Sean Grandillo (Spring Awakening) and Karina Logue (Ray Donovan, Bates Motel). Returning cast members Willa Fitzgerald (Emma), John Karna (Noah), Tom Maden (Jake), Tracy Middendorf (Maggie), Amadeus Serafini (Kieran), Bex Taylor-Klaus (Audrey), and Carlson Young (Brooke).

Season two begins with Emma’s return to Lakewood, following several months at a retreat where she was trying to recover from last season’s horrors.   Everyone wonders if she is truly over what happened, while walking on eggshells around her. Audrey keeps her connection to the killer secreet, but someone knows the truth and is harassing her.  Brook and Jake are hiding a budding romance, while Noah is getting closer and closer to the truth about the murders.

Lede will play overachiever Zoe, Segura will play skilled artist who is horror/serial killer obsessed Gustavo Acousta, Ruivivar is recurring as outspoken Sheriff Michael Acosta, Highsmith is recurring as idealistic   psychology teacher Karen Lang, Grandillo is recurring as Kiernan’s cousin Eli, and Logue who is also recurring as self reliant Tina Hudson.

Gans and Register are executive producing, along with Harvey and Bob Weinstein (Dimension TV production).    Also executive producing are Wes Craven, Tony DiSanto, Liz Gateley, Marianne Maddalena and Cathy Konrad. Producers include Matthew Signer & Keith Levine.
