Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba Cast in ‘Dark Tower,’ Confirmed by Stephen King

 

Matthew McConaughey and Idris Elba have been cast in ‘Dark Tower,’ as confirmed by Stephen King himself today.  He tweeted the news today saying, “It’s official: The man in black fled across the desert and the gunslinger followed. DarkTowerMovie @McConaughey @IdrisElba”   The two actors had been mentioned as possible additions to the cast in the past few months.

Nikolaj Arcel is directing the film, which will be produced by  Akiva Goldsman, Ron Howard, Brian Grazer and Erica Huggins.   Universal pulled out of the project back in 2011,   after which Sony picked it up. It is scheduled to be released January of next year.   You can view the tweets posted today below.
