Lou Diamond Phillips Cast as L.A. Serial Killer Richard Ramirez

Lou Diamond Phillips has been cast as serial killer Richard Ramirez in ‘The Night Stalker’.   The indie drama from writer-director Megan Griffiths begins production this summer. Ramirez killing spree took place 1984-85 and the LA Times gave him the name Night Stalker.  He was convicted of 13 murders and five attempted murders, in addition to other crimes. He died in 2013 of lymphoma while on Death Row.  The upcoming film is inspired by true events and follows a lawyer who tries to get the incarcerated Ramirez to confess to a murder in order to save another man from being executed.  The film combines the violent history of Ramirez, with a fictional story. ‘The Night Stalker’ is being porduced by  Alisa Tager and Matthew R. Brady.
