Trailer for Jordan Peele’s ‘Us’ Arrives

As a Christmas present for horror fans list this year, Jordan Peele delivered the official trailer for his upcoming film Us.

The trailer shows, the Wilsons, an ordinary family headed to the beach for a relaxing vacation, while the 1995 Luniz classic I Got 5 On It plays in the car (and in the background throughout the trailer). Upon arrival to their destination the family unwinds in the sand and sun as a mysterious figure arrives on the beach. We get a glimpse of the beach where Jason, the youngest member of the family notably decked out in a classic Jaws t-shirt, decides to check out the area and causes a sir with his absence. Later that evening the Wilsons notice a family of strangers in their driveway, who later reveal themselves to not be strangers at all, but other versions of themselves.

In speaking with EW, Peele revealed answers to some of the burning questions that are on the minds of fans after watching the trailer. “I think the main idea that went into writing this film is that we’re our own worst enemy, and that idea created this monster, The Tethered. I wanted to forge this new mythology that explored our duality and the duality of the characters. To the actors, I knew this was the ultimate fun because who doesn’t want to play two roles in a movie; when you’re tired in one, you get to jump into the other. But I think what was a fun challenge for actors, was finding the connections between the characters and their counterparts.”

Produced by Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions alongside Sean McKittrick and Jason Blum, the film stars Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, Elisabeth Moss, Tim Heidecker, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Evan Alex, Shahadi Wright Joseph, Anna Diop, Madison Curry, Cali Sheldon, and Noelle Sheldon.

The film will debut in theaters on March 19, 2019. Keep it locked to Horror News Network for more news on Us.
