John Krasinski To Direct Emily Blunt in ‘A Quiet Place 2’

A Quiet Place fans better not scream too loudly about today’s special announcement… the creepy crawlies from the movie with extraordinary hearing will surely pinpoint their hiding places! It turns out the monsters will be back on the silver screen soon, and so will Emily Blunt. This time around- due to the spoileriffic events of the original film- her husband, John Krasinski will be directing both of them safely from behind the camera.

Deadline reports that John Krasinski has officially signed on to direct the follow-up to his wildly popular 2018 film, A Quiet Place. The announcement follows previous news that he had already agreed to write the script for the picture. Emily Blunt’s deal to return to the franchise was simultaneously announced with today’s news of Krasinski’s return as director. Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe- the Hollywood power couple’s on-screen children in the first movie- are currently in talks to return for the sequel as well. Given the popularity of the franchise, and the money at stake for the sequel based on the original’s performance at the box office, it’s safe to assume we’ll soon receive word on their official return.

A Quiet Place 2 will be produced by Brad Fuller and Andrew Form, and production on the film is set for this July. We currently have no information on the plot of this highly-anticipated sequel, but the movie is scheduled to debut in theaters on May 15th, 2020. Stay tuned to Horror News Network for complete coverage of this exciting project as soon as it breaks!
