Horror News Network’s 2017 Horror Comic Awards: Best Artist

Horror News Network is proud to present 2017’s Best Artist award to Tomm Coker.

Tomm Coker’s art stood out this year in 2017’s Best Limited Series, The Black Monday Murders, and Coker proved to be the perfect partner for Jonathan Hickman’s nightmare-noir take on an occult conspiracy.  Coker’s photo-realistic art style captured the human terror and he also got to apply his skills to a number of demonic characters in this year’s “Unionized Labor” story arc.

Coker’s emerging style is much different than his work at the start of his career (which began in the early 1990’s speculator era) and it is instantly recognizable by fans today.  We hope that he continues to produce The Black Monday Murders and also finds more projects (although his attention to detail on the book is certainly a time consuming task) to satisfy his ever-growing fan base.

Stay tuned for the Best Writer and Best Series announcements which will complete 2017’s Horror News Network Comic Awards.

Nick joined the website in 2015. His lifelong love of comics and horror began with Universal Monsters and the Incredible Hulk. He has fond memories of going to Waldbaum’s supermarket with his mother and being rewarded with a 3-pack of sealed comics. It’s been all downhill from there… Since those early days, his life has been immersed in four color action and scares on the silver screen.
