The Godfather of Zombies, George A. Romero, will finally receive his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!

The official announcement came today via a live stream from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which administers the Walk of Fame. Those who attended the Texas Frightmare Weekend 2015 event will remember our fundraising efforts. Chris Roe Management spearheaded and led the fundraising efforts at Texas Frightmare Weekend. TFW was more than willing to lend a hand to Chris for the iconic director. The majority of the money raised to fund the effort to get Romero’s Star was raised right here at Texas Frightmare Weekend. A massive memorabilia auction and screenings of the 1978 classic Dawn of the Dead at the Alamo Drafthouse in Dallas contributed to the cause.

Texas Frightmare Weekend founder and director Loyd Cryer said, “We’re extremely excited that Romero has been recognized for his immeasurable contribution to  the filmmaking world.”. He added, “The TFW attendees were largely responsible for making this possible in part to their generous contributions.”

More details will be announced about the ceremony that is to be held sometime in 2017.
