George A. Romero’s ‘Empire of the Dead’ Getting TV Series – Cannes

Damarest (‘Tusk’ and ‘A Most Wanted Man’) announced today at Cannes that it is developing a TV adaptation of George A Romero’s 15-issue Marvel graphic novel ‘Empire of the Dead’.  Romero and Peter Grunwuld are writing the series. Romero, Grunwald, and Damarest’s Sam Englebard William D. Johnson are executive producing.   Romero’s now iconic film ‘Night of the Living Dead’ from 1968 invented the idea of the zombie apolcalypse. ‘Empire of the Dead’ centers arounds zombies again, but adds vampires to the mix.
