Free Comic Book Day: Horror Comics – May 7, 2016

By Stephanie Shamblin Gray

Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) is the first Saturday in May each year when participating comic shops give away a selection of free comics. That’s right, FREE Comics! As usual, there are a few horror titles in the mix, so make sure to visit your local comic shop and support!

Most of the titles available for FCBD are all-ages and many are specifically for children. This is a good opportunity to get the next generation of horror fiends started. A complete list of titles can be found here: http://www.freecomicbookday.com/Home/1/1/27/981. Many publishers have something to appeal to horror fans so see the list of horror titles and their synopsis from Previews below to prepare. Visit the FCBD site to read more about the event and find a comics retailer near you: http://www.freecomicbookday.com/Home/1/1/27/992. At many local shops the FCBD festivities are almost becoming a mini-comic-con with cosplayers, local artist and creator signings, and food trucks, so don’t miss out!
