Variety reported today that Frank Grillo will be returning for ‘The Purge 3’ from Universal, Blumhouse and Platinum Dunes. Jason Blum is producing along with Sebastien Lemercier and Michael Bay, and Platinum Dunes’ Andrew Form and Brad Fuller.
‘The Purge’ films take place in a future where all crime is legal for a 12-hour period one day a year, described by the government as “the purge”. In the second installment, ‘Anarchy’, Grillo starred as Sergeant, a man who seeks revenge on Purge night. However he ends up protecting a group of people without shelter as it begins. The third film is set to hit theaters July 1, 2016 and begins filming in September.
