There aren’t a lot of new releases coming out this week, fellow fiends.  There’s still a pretty decent selection though.  One of this year’s earliest offerings, Devil’s Due is being released on DVD and Blu-ray.  There’s also a new DVD release of Salem’s Lot.  Rounding out this week’s list is yet another collection of 25 classic horror movies, most of which you may or may not already have strewn about across other collections of twenty, forty… hell, a thousand classic horror movies.  Enjoy.

Returning to his country estate with his new bride, English nobleman Sir Richard Fordyce finds himself under suspicion from angry locals for the rape and brutal murder of a young girl. Despite Sir Richard’s professed innocence, a growing hysteria unfolds, as strange and even supernatural events begin to occur around him. Synopsis:

The most provocative film from the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, Escape From Tomorrow should not exist, and yet it does. Like nothing you’ve ever seen, Randy Moore’s directorial debut is a bold and ingenious trip into the happiest place on earth. An epic battle begins when a middle-aged American husband and father of two learns that he has lost his job. Keeping the news from his nagging wife and wound-up children, he packs up the family and embarks on a full day of park hopping amid enchanted castles and fairytale princesses. Soon, the manufactured mirth of the fantasy land around him begins to haunt his subconscious. An idyllic family vacation quickly unravels into a surrealist nightmare of paranoid visions, bizarre encounters, and an obsessive pursuit of a pair of sexy teenage Parisians. Chillingly shot in black and white, Escape From Tomorrow dissects the mythology of artificial perfection while subversively attacking our culture’s obsession with mass entertainment.

Cédric Dupuis, a fledgling independent filmmaker, has set out to make the most terrifying horror film of all time. But shooting without any budget to speak of and a cast of his friends, Cédric soon realizes the frustration of indie film-making. One of the most disturbing films of recent years with a sickening dose jet-black humor. French language with English subtitles.

Notable Names:               Vincent Gallo, Tricia Vessey, Claire Deni

DVD Link:                            http://amzn.com/B00IKUBR5O

Synopsis:

American doctor Shane (Vincent Gallo) arrives in Paris for a honeymoon with his new young bride (Tricia Vessey), but the cuddles soon turn to carnal violence as Shane sneaks off in search of his true objective: his former colleague Leo (Alex Descas), who might be in possession of the antidote to a tropical virus that has transformed Leo’s wife (Béatrice Dalle) into a ravenous sexual cannibal. Denis’ delectably photographed yet shockingly violent imagery terrifies not so much by its goriness as by its correlations between intellect and instinct, ecstasy and agony, displaying the blurred and often interchangeable limits of human desire.
