The director of the critically acclaimed horror thriller Green Room is about to add to his resume with a star-studded film for Netflix entitled Hold the Dark. Jeremy Saulnier just announced casting details and a start date for the production via The Hollywood Reporter.
Saulnier’s new film will feature Jeffrey Wright (Westworld, Boardwalk Empire), Alexander Skarsgard (True Blood, The Legend of Tarzan) James Badge Dale (13 Hours), Riley Keough (Mad Max: Fury Road) and James Bloor (Dunkirk) among others.
The project is based on a novel by William Giraldi and, “is set in a remote Alaskan wilderness in which wolves have taken and killed children. A wolf expert biologist is called in to investigate but finds himself in between in between a secret-harboring mother, who disappears, and her husband, who goes on a maniacal spree when he returns from Iraq and learns of his son’s death. White cold snow runs red with hot blood.”
Filming is scheduled to begin in March in Alberta, Canada. If the film is anything like the atmospheric and tension filled Green Room, fans are in for a real treat!
