‘Cloverfield’ Spin-Off Moved From October to February 2018

It looks like Jigsaw scared those big, bad monsters off of their original October 2017 release schedule.  According to Deadline, Paramount Pictures just moved the still untitled Cloverfield (supposedly taking place in space and originally titled God Particle) feature from October 27th, 2017 to February 2nd, 2018.

This is the third time that the untitled Cloverfield project has been moved.  Originally, the film was set for release on February 24th, 2017 before moving to the since changed October date.

Whether this move to February 2nd, 2018 was motivated by less competition or long standing production troubles remains to be seen, but the former God Particle better capture audience and fan attention quickly because the highly-anticipated Black Panther opens on February 16th and the Pacific Rim sequel releases on February 23rd.

One thing is for certain: it will come out before Amityville: The Awakening!
