Clive Barker Producing TV Series For the CW Based On ‘Weaveworld’

Clive Barker is executive producing a drama TV series for The CW based on his horror/fantasy novel ‘Weaveworld’.  Jack Kenny (Warehouse 13) is writing and producing. Angela Mancuso is also executive producing.

The show will be a contemporary make over to the 1987 novel.   The TV adaptation will center around an app designer who teams up with a pastry chef who recently discovered that she is a guardian of a mythological realm, which is accessed through a portal in an old Savannah mansion.  They team up to fight an epic battle with evil forces who are fighting for control of the magical world.

For decades ‘Weaveworld’ was assumed to be too hard to adapt for TV because of the extensive special effects that would be needed. However, current technology can finally accomplish this on a TV budget.  There have been many attempts to to make an adaptation as a miniseries in the past twenty years, including for Showtime.
