‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ Heads to Netflix

Deadline is reporting that a 20-episode, two-season series of the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been ordered by Netflix. In October we reported that the CW was in talks to bring the show to their network. Rumor has it that Netflix made an offer to the producing studio, Warner Bros., that it could not refuse. Given the hot streak Netflix has been on lately with such hits as Stranger Things, Mindhunter and The Punisher, the series could seemingly be another solid addition for both horror and comic fans.

The Horror Comic Award-winning series is known for its unsettling story which is simply a slow burn of terror. Brought to newsstands by Archie Comics and writer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa and artist, Robert Hack, the book chronicles the life of a young witch Sabrina Spellman and her battle with forces that shape her destiny.

Fans of the comic should breathe easy as Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, who is known for the remake of Carrie and The Town that Dreaded Sundown, will also be acting as screenwriter and executive producer of the series. He is joined by fellow producers, Lee Toland Krieger, Jon Goldwater, Sarah Schechter and Greg Berlanti.
