‘Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ Gets Holiday Episode

Netflix is getting into the holiday spirit a bit early this year. Today they released a holiday sizzle trailer which featured some shows that will appear on the streaming network throughout November and December. A big present for horror fans is the announcement of a special episode of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, titled: Chilling Adventures of Sabrina: A Midwinter’s Tale which will debut on December 14.

The official synopsis of the episode is: “The Church of Night, like all covens, celebrates the Winter Solstice — the longest night of the year — when families gather together around the Yule Fire to sing pagan carols, tell ghost stories and huddle against the supernatural creatures that come out to cause mischief. Since the Winter Solstice is when the veil between this world and the next is at its thinnest, it’s the perfect time to conduct a séance — which Sabrina convenes, to try and contact her mother. But the holidays are also a time for guests and visitors — both welcome and unwelcome — and you never know what might come down the chimney.

Based on the comic book series by Archie Horror, Chilling Adventures of Sabrina premiered October 26 on Netflix. The first season consisted of 10 episodes and starred Kiernan Shipka as Sabrina Spellman, a girl who is half-human, half-witch. Season 1 currently has a 90% “Tomatometer” rating on the review aggregator website, Rotten Tomatoes.
