‘Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina’ Gets First Poster

Right from Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa’s Twitter page, Netflix’s upcoming original series Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has released its first poster, looking to cast a spell on viewers across the world.

Netflix and executive producer Aguirre-Sacasa shared the image on social media in preparation of the forthcoming series based on the popular Archie Comics character. The poster displays a playful occult vibe with Sabrina’s signature hairstyle, red lips and a silhouette of her cat, named Salem Saberhagen in the comic series.

The new storyline re-imagines the origin of Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka of Mad Men) as a dark coming-of-age story with adventures of horror, the occult and witchcraft.

Following the tone of Rosemary’s Baby and The Exorcist, this adaptation finds the central character struggling to balance her dual nature, being half-witch and half-mortal, while standing against forces of evil that threaten herself, her family and the daylight world that humans live in.

The talent enriched cast also includes Lucy Davis and Miranda Otto as Sabrina’s Aunts Hilda and Zelda respectively, Richard Coyle as Father Blackwood, Ross Lynch as Harvey Kinkle, Tati Gabrielle as Prudence, Michelle Gomez as teacher Mary Wardell and Chance Perdomo as Ambrose Spellman, Sabrina’s warlock cousin. Bronson Pinchot will guest star as George Hawthorne, Baxter High’s villainous principal.

Aguirre-Sacasa acts as executive producer with Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, Jon Goldwater and director Lee Toland Krieger for Warner Bros. TV.

The series makes its debut in 2018.

Since Mark was four years old he has always loved the horror genre, even when his mother would be a good parent and not let him watch such films. It was when he would sneak into the Horror section at the video store called Tommy K's that he would see all of the VHS covers of classics like Friday the 13th and A Nightmare on Elm Street. During his time as a journalism major and news staff writer at Southern CT State University, he had the pleasure of meeting and interviewing paranormal investigator Lorraine Warren before a seminar in 2009 at the Lyman Center on campus.
