Serkis to Star as Caesar in Planet of the Apes

Andy Serkis Caesar

20th Century Fox announced on Twitter that Andy Serkis is reteaming with the Weta Digital team (“The Lord of the Rings” trilogy, King Kong) for Rise of the Apes! He’ll do the performance capture for Caesar, portraying the chimp who leads the simian revolt.

Set in present day San Francisco, Rise of the Apes is a reality-based cautionary tale, a science fiction/science fact blend, where man’s own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy. For the first time ever in the film series, the movie will feature photo-realistic apes rather than costumed actors.

Tilda Swinton attached to Blood Countess

Bathory movie

Tilda Swinton may join the long line of actresses who have played Erzsebeth Bathory.

The Chronicles of Narnia and Constantine star is attached to play the eponymous role in The Blood Countess for writer-director Ulrike Ottinger. Unlike the two most recent films about the aristocrat who would bathe in the blood of virgins, The Countess and Bathory, Ottinger’s take sounds a bit far out and fantastical.

The Russellville Hacksaw Murders

Last Supper Hacksaw Murders
William Sanders is gearing up for a fall shoot for Last Supper: The Russellville Hacksaw Murders, what he calls a spin-off to the popular Halloween franchise. Last Supper is based on a line of dialogue from John Carpenter’s “Halloween”. In the film Dr. Loomis goes to a cemetery in search of Judith Myers’ grave, the graveyard keeper tells Dr. Loomis a story about Charlie Bowles, while in search of the grave marker, but in the middle of his story he is interrupted by Loomis about Michael Myers and Carpenter’s story of Halloween continues from there. Line of dialogue for reference Every town has something like this happen. I remember a guy over in Russellville. Charlie Bowles. About fifteen year ago, he finished dinner, excused himself from the table, went out into the garage and got a hacksaw, then came back into the house, kissed his wife and two children goodbye, and then proceeded to… In this small scene it has left many fans including myself wondering what did Ol Charlie Bowles do?
