An official website has been launched for John Carpenter’s big return to horror with The Ward, his thriller starring Amber Heard (Manyd Lane, Zombieland, The Stepfather), Danielle Panabaker (Friday the 13, The Crazies), Mamie Gummer, Jared Harris, Mika Boorem, Lyndsy Fonseca, Laura-Leigh, and Sydney Sweeney. With the real goods forthcoming, the site features a slew of behind-the-scenes images and videos from the flick that follows a girl (Heard) who is admitted to a psychiatric ward and meets other girls there with distinct personalities only to discover a mysterious girl haunting the halls at night.

Elisabeth Shue joins The House at the End of the Street

The House at the End of the Street
Piranha 3Ds Elisabeth Shue will star opposite Jennifer Lawrence and Max Thieriot in thriller The House at the End of the Street.

Directed by Mark Tonderai, the film centers on a teen girl (Lawrence) who moves with her mom (Shue) to a new town and learns that their home is across the street from a house where a double murder took place.

Mark Protosevich adapts Freakshow


Screenwriter Mark Protosevich is developing an adaptation of the comic book Freakshow.

To be published by Ape Entertainment in January, the three-part Freakshow takes a Toxic Avenger-like vibe as it tells of five friends who are turned into mutants after a chemical explosion. They have to decide whether to use their powers for good or to seek revenge on those responsible for their accident.

Rondo Award-nominated as Best Independent Horror Feature, Night Of The Living Dead: Reanimated is a collaborative artistic mash-up of George Romero’s cult classic. Nearly 150 International artists and animators chose their favorite scenes and re-envisioned them through their own artwork, with no restrictions on style, media or process – resulting in an eclectic ‘art show’ interpretation of the seminal 1968 film, all placed over the original’s audio.

Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment UK will debut the Alien Anthology on Blu-ray for the first time ever on October 25 in the UK and October 26 in the U.S.

All four Alien films have been reinvigorated. The release also marks the debut of MU-TH-UR Mode, a fully interactive companion that takes the extensive materials in the Alien Anthology and puts them in the user’s hand – connecting fans to special features on all six discs and instantly providing an index of all available Alien content, including over 60 hours of special features and over 12,000 images.

Intruders cast revealed

Intruders movie

Carice Van Houten, Pilar Lopez de Ayala, Ella Purnell, Izan Corchero and Kerry Fox are joining Clive Owen and Daniel Bruhl in Intruders, the new thriller form Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 Weeks Later).

The film, written by Fresnadillo, concerns an 11-year-old who is “forced to confront childhood demons.” Filming will take place in the UK and Spain.
