Ridley Scott discusses Alien prequel

Alien prequel
In an interview with AICN, Ridley Scott discussed the upcoming Alien prequels he’s at work on. The director says he’s not stressed about the post-conversion process (which has been utilized on Clash of the Titans). “What’s happened is the scientists have gone in the room…because it is complex. The beam-splitter, the this and the that and blah, blah, blah…it all sounds very complex,” he says. “I always [camera] operate. I operated entirely on Alien, for instance. Because I’m an operator I think lenses. If you think lenses then the crossover to 3D honestly is nothing. I was told it was going to slow us down…it didn’t slow [Michael] Bay down. Bay is moving like lightning. Once he realized, ‘Oh, Jesus…there’s no difference, really. Except I’m adding dimension. They say, ‘Aren’t you worried about how it’s going to cut?’ No, because when I’m planning I think in 3D anyway. Even when I’m storyboarding the scene is already thought of in dimension. ‘When he comes in there, I’ve got a deep two-shot. Should I cover that in singles or not? Will I need a reversal?’ You’re already thinking in 3D.”

Chad Ferrin

Hannover House has partnered with producer Rohan Ghodsi’s Illusion Film Studios for the production Dances With Werewolves, a thriller by screenwriter David Chirchirillo based on the legendary, supernatural transformative powers of some Native American Indian warriors.

The film will be produced in 3-D for theatrical release in 2012 through Hannover House. Chad Ferrin (Someone’s Knocking At The Door) will direct the film, with Nicole Reid and Niklas Larsson sharing producing duties with Ghodsi.”The legend of Native American warriors transforming themselves into enormously powerful wolves is centuries old,” says Hannover House C.E.O., Eric Parkinson. “But it’s a concept that for many audiences was only recently re-introduced through the successful’Twilight’ series of books and films. Guillermo Del Toro talks Van Helsing

Guillermo Del Toro

Guillermo Del Toro commented on the Van Helsing rumors on his site:

Van Helsing (writing and producing) is still in talks and not quite certain. Even then, I would like to share my plans only at COMICON. I am taking it slowly and marking very, very carefully the calendar of projects that I will be involved as producer, writer, etc I will not announce the project I intend to direct until then. I am very happy to say that all the projects and partnerships being considered are both quite surprising and, I hope, powerful. Much as I want, I cannot say much more at this time but I anxiously await to share these with you. I will be shopping on the floor in San Diego for several days. See you there!!
