Review by: Nick Banks

Writer: Mike Mignola, Chris Golden
Artist: Peter Bergting
Publisher: Dark Horse
Release Date: September 2, 2015
Rating: 9 out of 10

Synopsis: Lord Baltimore and his companions engage in all-out supernatural war with the Cult.

Our Thoughts: In the last issue of The Cult of the Red King, the culmination of the search for and discovery of the cult pays off in a major way and the events that take place are bound to impact future story-lines in a significant way.  The action and carnage takes place everywhere in the story and bounces between each location, highlighting each sub-group as they do final battle with cult members, witches, or ghosts. The ending is bitter sweet for the team as a major loss is suffered.  Mignola and Golden promise much more for Baltimore at the end, leaving the reader waiting for the next installment.

Peter Berting’s handles many different types of conflict, from bloody beheadings to spirit possession.  This issue, being the most action packed, serves Berting’s style well.
