American Vampire: Second Cycle #2 Review

Review by: Rob Caprilozzi

Synopsis: Pearl has made The Preston House a place of peace. But when something comes to threaten that peace, she’ll do anything to protect her young strays. The blockbuster return of AMERICAN VAMPIRE continues here!

Our Thoughts: The super-team of Scott Snyder and Rafael Albuquerque have returned to American Vampire after a hiatus and as horror gans we are elated to see this book back in stores. Although the first issue of the series was slow, American Vampire: Second Cycle #2 really picks up the pace.

Issue two follow Pearl as she meets up with fellow vampire, Calvin and tells him of a being known as the “Gray Trader”. Calvin has heard of the name and lets Pearl know that signs are pointing towards upcoming scary times for humans. The reast of the issue follows suit as we are introduced to some new types of vampires who are all types of bloodthirsty.

Snider crafts a solid issue with great pacing. It will be interesting to see how he weaves this tale as the world may be up against the strongest vampire of all time.

As always, Albuquerque’s art is phenomenal. I can’t think of an artist that woul dbe a better fit for this particular book.

American Vampire is back and we are in for quite a ride with this edition. If you love vampires, be sure to pick up this series!
