Roger Corman And Wife Sued By Sons Over Sale Of Film Library

According to Deadline, Roger Corman and his wife Julie Corman are currently being sued by their sons over the recent sale of a vast majority of Corman’s film catalog to Shout! Factory and HK Company Limited.

The suit filed by Roger and Brian Corman contends that  “…the sale of 270 films under their father’s New Horizons Picture Corp banner – which they refer to as “stolen film properties” – violated an irrevocable trust agreement that would have provided them and their two sisters with $30 million-$40 million each. They are also suing Ace Film and Shout! Factory, claiming they “knew or should have known that the purported sale of the New Horizons catalog included film properties owned by the trust.” read more

Danny Trejo Joins the Cast of Zombie’s ‘3 From Hell’

Rondo rides again.  According to horror fiend Rob Zombie, by way of his Instagram account, veteran bad-ass Danny Trejo will reprise his role from The Devil’s Rejects for Zombie’s new film, 3 From Hell.  Trejo joins an impressive list of actors already announced for the project, with new additions being announced by social media posts seemingly ever other day. Mr. Zombie’s post can be seen below.

Hell, currently shooting principal photography, will once again follow the infamous (and apparently bullet-dodging) Firefly Family as they terrorize and victimize innocent and unfortunate citizens.  These folks, Otis, Baby and Captain Spaulding, were last seen crumpled over in a bloody heap through the windshield of a still-moving convertible under a hail of sheriffs’ bullets but appear to have survived.  Since no other details have yet been provided by either Zombie or distributor Lionsgate, we’ve been left to assume that the three killers (Sheri Moon Zombie, Bill Moseley and Sid Haig will once again star) return from the dead to seek revenge.  Trejo’s addition would then make sense, as Rondo was one of the hired guns that tracked down the trio for vigilante Sheriff Wydell in an act of retribution.  Could DDP be far behind, as his character Billy Ray Snapper was Rondo’s partner.  One can only hope… read more

First Image from Netflix’s ‘The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina’ Revealed

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, the writer and Executive Producer of Netflix’s adaptation of Archie Comics’ The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, took to twitter today to share the first image from the upcoming series featuring Sabrina and her boyfriend Harvey.

The image features Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) and Harvey Kinkle (Ross Lynch) “strolling down the avenue” into teenage romance and possible trouble, albeit of a more demonic nature.  The Netflix series is based on the 2014 comic book mini series (also written by Aguirre-Sacasa) and if the source material is any indication, this series will more closely resemble classic horror films, rather than the light-hearted Melissa Joan Hart sit-com which aired from 1996 to 2003. read more

Joan Collins Joining Cast of ‘American Horror Story’ for Season 8

According to a post by Deadline, American Horror Story head honcho Ryan Murphy has brought Dame Joan Collins on board for the upcoming eighth season of the mammoth show. Another big name being dangled (but not confirmed) is that of legendary actress Anjelica Huston. Collins (and maybe Huston) joins a cast that already includes Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters and the always-incredible Kathy Bates.

While there has been no confirmation of what the theme will be for this season, there is speculation that we may need to prepare for life in a post-nuclear war Arizona in American Horror Story: Radioactive! Again, that is just rumor at this point but it’s always fun to discuss. read more

Hot on the heels of Universal Studio’s announcement of the dates for 2018’s Halloween Horror Nights, the theme park empire announced today that the first maze would be dedicated to none other than Netflix’s Stranger Things.

Universal’s Patrick Braillard described some of the initial details of the maze (which will be featured on both coasts at Universal Studios Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood) stating that it would recreate “…some of the show’s most iconic scenes, 80’s settings, and most loved characters (#RIPBarb).  You’ll faithfully follow the storyline, starting off on Mirkwood and then quickly moving to inside Hawkins National Laboratory where things have gone terribly, terribly wrong.  From there you will experience all the most memorable moments and environments from the show while being hunted at every turn by the Demogorgon.” read more

‘The Endless’: The Horror News Network Review

Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead’s The Endless is headed to theaters on April 6th after making a splash at the Tribeca Film Festival last year. Acting as jacks of all trades for the picture, Benson wrote, co-directed, co-produced, co-edited, and acted in a lead role in the film, while Moorhead co-directed, served as the director of photography, co-produced, and acted in the other lead role opposite Benson. While such a feat is usually reserved for the passion projects longtime industry leaders full of hubris and name recognition, Benson and Moorhead’s project comes from the other end of the career trajectory spectrum: the path of two talented young filmmakers breaking onto the scene with unique ideas and the ability to attain their vision through a collective mindset and efficient production decisions. The result of their labors is a large-scale story told with a level of heart and intimacy rarely seen in contemporary horror filmmaking. Focusing on two brothers who return to the UFO death cult of their childhood- which may be under the influence of an invisible monstrous godlike beast that requires cyclical human sacrifice- The Endless is a slow-burning, original movie which builds dread through classical storytelling mechanisms over cheap modern horror gags. read more
