Ice-T and Vincent Pastore to Star in ‘Clinton Road’ Horror Movie

Ice-T, a hip-hop star turned crime television show actor, and Vincent Pastore, best known as Salvatore Bonpensiero of HBO’s The Sopranos, are an unlikely combination for a horror movie. But if that horror movie just so happened to be about the real-life New Jersey Pine Barrens, this could get interesting!

Variety reports that Ice-T and Vincent Pastore will be starring in Clinton Road, an upcoming horror movie based on the infamous street, which stretches for 10 miles through the notorious Pine Barrens. This secluded dumping ground for victims of organized crime hits was famously featured in an episode of The Sopranos… a likely nod to the fact that one recovered corpse in this area ultimately led to the arrest of Richard Kuklinski (“The Iceman”) in the early 1980’s. In the show, Pastore’s character didn’t make it to the “Pine Barrons” episode, but now he can finally see for himself what all the fuss was about! read more

Late Summer Horror Release ‘Polaroid’ moved from August to December

Deadline is reporting that Lars Klevberg’s film Polaroid (which was adapted from a short film he directed) has been moved from August 25th to December 1st.

Although the main reason cited has to do with the animated ballet story Leap! being moved up from a September opening (a film that has already been moved around the calendar a number of times), the move also allows Polaroid to retreat from Annabelle: Creation, which may be the only heavyweight horror contender at the box office this season. read more

Universal Orlando announced today that Starz series Ash vs Evil Dead would get the Halloween Horror Nights treatment as a featured house for the 2017 event.

According to the official press release, it appears that the creators of the house have a good understanding of what makes the series popular as “The house will feature various locations from the first two seasons of Ash vs Evil Dead and lots of blood. And for those “in the know,” the answer is yes…We’ll be going back to the cabin; with a few other surprises along the way.  This is our blood-soaked, milk-eyed, crass, rock n’ roll amped, chainsaw-wielding felt puppet, love-letter to everyone and everything connected to Ash vs Evil Dead. ” read more

It’s been an amazing summer for Patty Jenkins and Chris Pine. Wonder Woman, which was directed by Jenkins and featured Pine as Steve Trevor, became one of the highest critically rated superhero movies of all time and the highest grossing entry in the DC superhero extended universe by a long shot. Early rumors suggest that both Jenkins and Pine will return to collaborate on 2019’s Wonder Woman 2; but today’s breaking news means that they will now be working together much sooner than we could have expected! read more

SDCC: Wynonna Earp’s Melanie Scofano in the Press Room

Horror News Network caught up with Melanie Scrofano from “Wynonna Earp” in the press room at SDCC. We were very fortunate to hear her thoughts on pregnancy on set and her internal turmoil leading up to telling the show-runners about it. This is a show that empowers women and this is a great example of how that premise extends beyond what is on the screen.

Illfonic Claims “Support for ‘Friday the 13th: The Game’ Has Not Been Abandoned” Amid Launch of ‘Dead Alliance’

Illfonic’s May 26th launch of Friday the 13th: The Game hasn’t exactly been a smooth one. Stop-Motion ‘Spongebob Squarepants’ Halloween Special Coming this October

The mark of any cartoon’s longevity and/or popularity are the special event episodes.  These specials usually fall into three categories: Christmas, Halloween, and Anniversary, and if you have at least one of the three, chances are that your program will be remembered and successful.

For those who grew up in the 2000’s, no cartoon character has had the continued popularity of Nickelodeon’s Spongebob Squarepants.  Although, the clueless fry cook has had his share of Halloween episodes (and also introduced more young people to Nosferatu than ever imagined in the famous “Graveyard Shift” episode featuring the tale of the “Hash-Slinging Slasher”), he has never had one done in the classic stop-motion animation style of Rankin-Bass, until now… read more
