Over the last few years, adult coloring books have gained enormous popularity as relaxing and therapeutic. Well, if you’re inner child is Wednesday Addams, you’re probably counting the days until you can get your hands on “The Beauty of Horror.”

Scheduled for a Halloween release “The Beauty of Horror: A Gorgeous Coloring Book” is the brainchild of Horror Comic Award winner and Life of Agony Bassist Alan Robert.  According to Roberts, “Bookstores are filled with coloring books for adults, but there’s a huge void for the kind of creepy art that horror fans like me want to color, so I decided to create my own,” Robert explains. “The world needs a book like this to cut through the mandalas! It’s art therapy for the abnormal…and trust me, there are plenty of us.” read more

By Jay Kay

The love of the car culture, movie monsters, music, long drives to the middle of nowhere, a beautiful woman or… women all are connected to different parts of our lives. For author Robert E. Dunn, his latest book on the “Necro Publishing” house brings all these elements together in a trippy, dangerous, and dream like purgatory that one man named Johnny Burris must motor through facing his destiny as attraction sits heavy in the air, the blue lights shine above and monsters are the norm within this lost town. Robert took some time out to talk about one of his latest works and the impact being an army brat had on him, fast cars as well as music in writing. read more

Stranger Things – Review

It’s been a really, really long time since I was captivated by a television show the way that I was, and am, captivated by Stranger Things.

After hearing the whispers about ST at my job a few weeks ago and then scrolling by a few people discussing it on the trusty old Facebook machine, my wife and I decided to give the show a whirl last week…we were both fascinated from episode one.

The show, set in Indiana 1983, opens with a scientist frantically scurrying down the corridor of a dimly lit lab toward an elevator. It’s clear that he is trying to escape from something and you can tell by the tension-filled score that something bad is on its way. As he finally makes it into the elevator and the doors begin to close, it seems like he might make it; that is, of course, until he’s snatched up by something on the ceiling. Immediately, the action music stops and we’re transported to the basement of a suburban home where four pre-teen boys are engrossed in a Dungeons and Dragons campaign. read more

Tour Guillermo Del Toro’s Bleak House with Andy Richter!

Nothing has endeared Guillermo del Toro to horror fans more than the revelation of his “Bleak House” collection.   This enormous collection of memorablia from Universal horror, classic horror writers H.P. Lovecraft and Edgar Allen Poe, props from his films, and Disney’s Haunted Mansion are a horrror fan’s dream.

Andy Richter of Conan O’Brien’s TBS Talk show recently visited del Toro’s house and was treated to a personal tour.  Now before you get too jealous, Del Toro will be taking “the show on the road” with a series of exhibitions around the country.  According to Rocio Ayuso of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association “The exhibit will be a showcase of more than 500 pieces culled from his collection at the Bleak House. According to Del Toro, the show will remain on view at LACMA (Los Angeles County Museum of Art) between July and November (2016) and after that it will go on tour, starting in Minneapolis and followed by Toronto, Mexico City, Barcelona, Paris, and finally New York City.”  Del Toro also published a book in 2013 showcasing his collection entitled Cabinet of Curiosities: My Notebooks, Collections, and Other Obsesssions.  Enjoy this “sneak peak” and hopefully the exhibit will be travelling close to your hometown in the coming years. read more

AHS Season 6 Teasers

A few American Horror Story season 6 teaser have been released. The teasers were released via Snapchat. In usual AHS fashion, the teasers are creepy and artistically abstract. It’s still hard to tell what this season will be about. However, a sinister looking farm house is featured in the third teaser, along with a baby’s nursery with a mobile of farm tools and knives in the first.

Season six will star Lady Gaga, Kathy Bates, Denis O’Hare, Angela Bassett, Sarah Paulson, Finn Wittrock, Wes Bentley, Cheyenne Jackson and Matt Bomer. The series returns September 14th on FX. You can view the teasers below. read more
