Daniel Stern and More Cast in ‘Strange Calls’

Daniel Stern will co-star with Danny Pudi in the upcoming horror comedy ‘Strange Calls’ from NBC. Allison Miller and Aliyah Royale have also been cast in the pilot, which Blake McCormick is writing. Based on the Australian single-camera format, the show takes place in the rural town of Coolum, where a around an unlucky young police officer, named Toby (Pudi), with a poor arrest record is transferred. With the help of a strange elderly nightwatchman named Gregor, he discovers that the town is home to bizarre supernatural activity. read more

Leonard Nimoy Dies

Lenoard Nimoy, best known as Spock in ‘Star Trek’, has passed away. He was 83 years old. His wife Susan reported that he died from end-stage chronic obstructive pulmonary disease. Nimoy’s career started when he was his early 20s and spanned decades. In 1965 he starred as Spock for the first time in the ‘Star Trek’ pilot ‘The Cage.’ He also starred in ‘Mission Impossible’, hosted the ‘In Search Of’ series, and most recently ‘Fringe’. He directed several films including ‘Star Trek III: The Search For Spock’ and ‘Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home’ and ‘Three Men And A Baby’. He was also a writer and published poetry and autobiography. read more

Tom Ellis To Star in Fox’s ‘Lucifer’

Tom Ellis (Rush) will star in Fox’s upcoming ‘Lucifer’ pilot. The comic book TV drama is based on characters from DC’s Vertigo comic by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg. It centers on the bored, unhappy Lucifer (Ellis) Lord of Hell, who abandons his throne and heads for Los Angeles, where he helps the LAPD punish criminals for his own amusement. Len Wiseman (Sleepy Hollow) is directing the pilot and executive producing along with Tom Kampinos (Californication), who is writing the script. Jerry Bruckheimer and Jonathan Littman are executive producing and KristieAnne Reed is co-executive producing.  read more

The movie is described as:
