Clive Barker Bringing Nightbreed to TV

After being rushed to the hospital in January and ending up in a coma, Clive Barker is thankfully back on his feet. According to an interview on his website, he even discussed a possibility of "Nightbreed" being brought to television: “We are also actively in conversation about doing a Nightbreed television series which will be for cable, so it will have a chance to be as sexy or as graphic in terms of the violence as we need it to be. For example, do you have Spartacus over there? Oh my God, it redefines gruesome… I also applaud them for finally realising it’s not a bad thing to see a manhood once in a while – it’s not as if half the world doesn’t see it daily…” “The sensitivity of our culture has sort of caught up with Nightbreed. I don’t wish to be immodest but the general sense is that the movie failed because people didn’t want to associate with the monster and I think our culture has changed – I think our culture is now ready to embrace the ambiguity. You’ve only got to look at Twilight where obviously the monsters are the good guys – I’m not a huge fan but I’m enough of a fan to watch and see monsters being celebrated. There’s something very satisfying about seeing the evolution of the werewolves…”

Day the World Ended Marty Three Eyed Mutant Bust

When famous monster maker Paul Blaisdell wore the costume of this radiation-riddled creature in the 1955 B-movie classic Day the World Ended he never could have envisioned it would inspire this amazing Day the World Ended Marty Three Eyed Mutant Bust! While the post-nuclear, Roger Corman-directed classic from the 1950s is beloved by many for the sheer amount of overwhelming destruction that takes place in its 80 minutes of running time, the one thing any viewer can take away from the movie is that Marty the Three Eyed Mutant is one badass creature! From his gnarly teeth to his intense three-eyed gaze, Marty makes for one unique B-movie monster, and at around 16-inches tall, he makes for one unique bust, too.

Chloe Moretz Cast in the Remake of Carrie

Deadline is reporting that Chloe Moretz is near being set to play the title role in Stephen King's classic "Carrie." "If negotiations work out, she’ll play the title role in the remake of the Brian DePalma original that was based on the 1974 Stephen King bestseller. She’s expected to play the shy high school student Carrie White, who is raised by a nightmarish religious fanatic mother, and comes to grip with devastating telepathic powers just as she reaches puberty. She eventually uses those gifts for lethal means when fellow classmates use the prom as an excuse to humiliate her before the entire school in a parable about bullying. Sissy Spacek played the character in the first movie, with Piper Laurie playing her mother, and Amy Irving, Nancy Allen, John Travolta, Betty Buckley and William Katt rounding out the cast. Both Spacek and Laurie got Oscar nominations for their work in the 1976 film."
